At Adau Was Back At Rainforest World Music Festival 2018

Last year we wrote about At Adau performing at the 20th Rainforest World Music Festival and we were hoping and wishing that they will be back at the festival this year. Our wish came true! Asia Food Kitchen At RWMF 2018

Asia Food Kitchen or AFK started to be a part of Rainforest World Music Festival since last year. It was successfully organized last year and the festival goers loved all the food they offered. AFK is an event where the organizer brought in some chefs from member country of EATOF to showcase and sell their foods. Rainforest World Music Festival 2018 (RWMF)

This year marked the 21st edition of the iconic Rainforest World Music Festival. We wrote about it last year and you can read it here. This festival which is fondly known as RWMF is held every year in Sarawak, a state of Malaysia on the island of Borneo. The venue in which this festival took place is called Sarawak Cultural Village, a beautiful place with the legendary Mount Santubong as its backdrop. Okra Playground at RWMF 2017

We have highlighted two of our favorite performances for the 2017 Rainforest World Music Festival, Ilu Leto and At Adau. Here we want to highlight one more band that caught our attention the most during that festival, the Okra Playground. This band originated from Helsinki, Finland. They call their band an electro-folk band and they play traditional instruments fused with a modern way. Their music is so unique and very melodic.

At Adau At Rainforest World Music Festival 2017

In our previous post we highlighted Sarawak’s very own Ilu Leto as one of our favorites in the last RWMF 2017. This time we want to highlight another band from Sarawak, the famous World Music Band, At Adau. They performed in this year’s Rainforest World Music Festival but their music journey started way before that. Like Ilu Leto, all their members are natives of Sarawak, Borneo.
