The Current Craze: D24 Durian McFlurry at McDonald’s

Since 24th August 2017, people are going crazy over a new McDonald’s Mcflurry flavour, the D24 Durian McFlurry. Why is it become such a craze? Well, it’s the king of fruits flavored ice cream. It doesn’t need any other special reason.

McDonald’s said, it wasn’t just a flavor but it will contain bits of the real durian flesh. It got us very excited because we love durian so much. But our first few attempts to get it ended up disappointing because it was sold out. We decided to wait for a few days until the hype decrease a bit.

Finally we get it! The price is RM7.99 per cup. We have high expectation of this Durian McFlurry. The first thing we want it to be true is that it contain the bits of the real Durian flesh. Guess what? It does! Although we are expecting it to be full of Durian flesh but it was more of a Durian puree added to their normal vanilla ice cream. But we can still taste the bits of Durian flesh in it.

The taste is good, the Durian flavor seems to over-power the vanilla taste. We are not complaining, it should be that way and we love it so much. The smell of the Durian is very distinct as well.

It is currently available in all McDonald’s restaurant but we are not sure if this flavor will be permanently available or only for a short period of time.

If you’re a fan of Durian, you have to try this D24 Durian McFlurry while it is still available.

Update: According to the update in McDonald’s Facebook page, the D24 Durian McFlurry is now sold out! If you missed your chance to try it, you might need to wait until next year as McDonald promise they will bring it back in 2018.

We managed to check at a two of their outlets in Kuching, McDonald Stutong and McDonald Kuching International Airport, they still have stocks available. But if you go for the one at Kuching International Airport, it will cost RM9.99 per cup.
